Senior Bookkeeper

Our client is a leading cause based not-for-profit who delivers complex projects and programs of work in the scientific arena. An increase in projects and a need for a wider array of financial expertise has led to the need for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join the team.

Reporting to the Financial Accountant, this role will provide strong bookkeeping, project costing and systems skills to support the organisation, and provide best practice accounting activities. In this role you will also be responsible for project job costing to ensure invoices are coded to correct projects through the financial accounting software.

To be successful in this role you will need to have a minimum of 5 years’ experience and with proven finance and systems experience.  You will be finance project savvy and have exceptional attention to detail. An ability to be flexible and focused on outcomes with excellent problem-solving skills is also essential.

You will have extensive experience operating financial accounting software (currently XERO, moving to MYOB Advanced), IAS and BAS, ensuring all financial transactions are coded correctly at a general ledger account, job code and GST-type level, ensuring source data is reflected accurately for reporting purposes.
