About the role

Status: Full Time & Part Time, 12 month

Location: Frankston

Salary : $74,524.32 to $77,650

The Opportunity

The “Better Way’ Program is a partnership between VACCA and Anglicare Victoria to pilot a new way of working with fathers who have used violence against their family members or and at risk of being violent again.The program provides an integrated whole-of family approach that primarily focuses on supporting fathers who require support to walk away from violence and be better fathers and family men

This position will work between VACCA and Anglicare Victoria’s Frankston office sites, with Aboriginal fathers living in the Southern Metropolitan Region

To be considered for this role you must demonstrate:

  • Experience working with men and ability to engage and support men through difficult times and complex situations
  • Demonstrated understanding of the underlying causes of family violence in Aboriginal families and the impact of violence on all members of the family
  • Experience and ability to work with Aboriginal organisations and sector partners to advocate for male clients and hold a case load of clients
  • An awareness of family violence issues and understanding of intergenerational trauma experienced by Aboriginal men
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and independently to achieve goals and outcomes
