About the organisation
The Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) is the national peak body representing health care professionals in diabetes education, management and care. We are also the regulatory body for Credentialled Diabetes Educators (CDEs).
The ADEA leads and advocates for best practice in diabetes education and care nationally. We are a national association with our administration office in Canberra. As a member organisation, we provide leadership and support for health care professionals who practice within the specialty field of diabetes education and care. About the role
Scope of the position
- Provide support as required to the COO, ADRF Board
- Manage advertisements for the ADEA official online publication
- Provide admin support to two ADEA special interest groups
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to ADEA staff as required
- Provide initial point of contact for telephone calls, including screening calls, following up routine queries and providing information as required
- Procure office supplies and other resources
- Maintain incoming and outgoing correspondence log, email, manage mail, including collecting from the post office and letterbox, and ensure outgoing mail is dispatched in a timely manner
- Produce routine correspondence as required
- Work with the COO to support the governance of the ADEA Diabetes Research Foundation
- Monitor and produce regular report
- Monitor and publish advertisements for the ADEA official online publication
- Liaise and manage the ADEA special interest groups
- Other administrative duties as requested.
Essential Criteria
- Impeccable attention to detail and efficient time management to meet tight deadlines
- Sound computer literacy and ability to pick up new computer systems quickly
- High level oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to draft correspondence
- Experience providing administrative and secretarial support in a member-based organisation
- Superb organisational skills with the ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in working with html and CMS to update website content
- Experience using membership based databases
- Experience working in the not for profit sector.
