Program Assistant Role

A unique opportunity at Cabrini Outreach to support asylum seekers in Melbourne.

This project is a partnership between Cabrini Outreach (Cabrini) which operates the Cabrini Asylum Seeker and Refugee Health Hub and Whittlesea Community Connections (WCC) in response to the significant unmet health needs of asylum seekers living in the City’s of Whittlesea and Hume.

You will assist in the establishment and administration of a pharmacy waiver program enabling people seeking asylum to access free prescribed medication.

The position will be two half days per week and operating from Whittlesea Community Connections Epping Office.

Key Capabilities

• Ability to exercise judgement, show initiative and maintain confidentiality in all matters
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Well-developed interpersonal, problem solving, co-ordination and organisational skills
• Well-developed written and oral communication skills
• Exceptional Microsoft Office skills as well as database management
• Basic medical knowledge or previous experience in a healthcare environment would be desirable
• Attention to detail 
• Demonstrated self-motivation with the ability to work independently, as well as in a project team
• Relevant qualifications an advantage
