About the role

About the position Samaritans is currently looking for an experienced Senior Learning and Development Partner to work from our office at Warabrook, Newcastle. This exciting new role will join our new Organisational Design and Development Team and play a key part in shaping our Learning and Development Framework. This position will: Work closely with the Organisational Design and Development Manager, contributing to the design and practical application of Samaritans’ Learning and Development function with links to:

  • Workforce Planning and Talent Management
  • Employee Engagement and Career Development

The primary area of responsibility is the development and implementation of Learning and Development programs, systems and processes that focus on developing and enhancing the capability and engagement of Samaritans staff. You will align with our mission, vision and values and be focused on building and strengthening internal relationships to provide key learning outcomes in pursuit of our organisational strategy. You will also

  • Possess creative ability matched with outstanding presentation and content development skills that engage all levels of learners
  • Exhibit well-developed interpersonal skills to positively influence and negotiate change, manage stakeholder relationships in a consultative and collaborative manner, and develop sustainable relationships at all levels across our diverse and wide service area
  • Have a proven ability to work effectively as an individual and as part of a broader team
  • Embrace change and subscribe to the concept of continuous improvement
  • Be an excellent communicator who can engage with a wide range of audiences through any medium
  • Have excellent time management skills and demonstrate initiative as second nature

The Essentials

  • A track record of achievement as a Learning Design and Development or HR Business Partner with a best practice focus
  • Demonstrated acumen in the implementation and/or coordination of a Learning Management System and e-learning content
  • High level of planning, prioritising and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources or equivalent
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment medical, National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, and hold a valid NSW Driver’s Licence
