Team Leader – Children’s Contact service

Beaumont People are currently looking for an experienced Team Leader to join a busy and vibrant centre in Blacktown.

The Children’s Contact Service provides a safe and neutral environment for children and parents who have separated to build and maintain secure relationships through supervised contact visits.

Join and work as part of a close knit and supportive team who genuinely love what they do and are driven by the difference they can provide to families within the community.

As Team leader you will provide general operational day to day leadership of the service, with oversight and coordination of the intake and assessment pathway of families into the service. The primary function of the role is to coordinate family visits, provide supervision, training and leadership to the team, as well as assessing and orienting clients including children to the centre and providing direct service to clients as required.

This is a 4 days per week role:-
Days and hours of work will be:
Wednesday & Thursday (11.00am to 7.00pm)
Friday (9.00am to 5.00pm) 
Saturday (9.00am to 4.00pm) 


Annual base salary for this position is between $68,357 to $73,612 (for 4 days per week), plus employer’s Super contributions and Salary Packaging as Relationships Australia are an Not For Profit organisation.

Main Responsibilities; 

  • Coordinate clients to access to the Contact Centre including assessment, intakes and reporting on visits
  • Provide support, supervision and leadership to centre staff to ensure quality services, including critical incident de-brief.
  • Manage the waitlist and maintain a client case load as required
  • Build relationships and connections across other services both internal and external within the community.
  • Prepare reports and analyse data, trends and current practice as required.
  • Work closely in collaboration with the Blacktown Centre manager to develop and improve staff practice and services delivered.

To be suitable for this role you must have; 

  • Tertiary qualification in either Social Work, Counselling, or Psychology.
  • Experience in and exposure to Child Protection principles and practice along with knowledge and experience supporting families and children with complex needs, ideally around post separation.
  • Understanding of working within a trauma informed framework.
  • Leadership of a team while providing supervision, ideally within a family centre setting.
  • Demonstrated high-level written and verbal communication; along with developed partnership, networking and negotiation skills
  • Experience working with parents and their children from CALD and aboriginal communities
  • Have well developed computer literacy, skills in the Microsoft Office suite and internet
  • Current Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Have a valid WWCC and willingness to undertake a national police check as part of the reemployment checks.
