About the organisation

Organisation Name : Circus Oz

In 2018 Circus Oz celebrated four extraordinary decades of successfully creating shows, connecting with audiences and touring around Australia and the world to critical acclaim. Circus Oz is credited with revitalising a traditional art form through a creative collaboration of some of Australia’s most talented artists in physical theatre, circus, dance, live music, and comedy. Featuring an all-human ensemble, the company is the only circus in Australia’s Major Performing Arts Group and has toured to 28 countries on five continents, performing to over four million people, receiving critical acclaim at home and abroad. In 2013 Circus Oz was recognised with the Governor of Victoria Export Award, reflecting its long history of international touring.

With a strong focus on social justice and a good time for all, Circus Oz is a not-for-profit organization and registered charity. Alongside its annual international activities and tours of Australian capital cities, regional centres and remote communities, Circus Oz also runs a range of public classes, community workshops and activities for corporate organisations, such as its High Flying Teams program, as well as a number of art form development programs, including its award winning BLAKflip training program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander circus artists, all underpinned by our corporate and private partnerships. In 2014, with the assistance of the Victorian Government, Circus Oz moved into its first ever purpose-built home, located in Collingwood.
