About the organisation
The Ethics Centre is an independent not-for-profit organisation that has been working for over 25 years to help people navigate the complexity and uncertainty of difficult ethical issues.
About the role
- Unique opportunity to join an iconic and important organisation
- Newly created, high profile role to support growth
- Collaborate with sector experts to spark positive social change
For almost 30 years, The Ethics Centre (TEC), an Australian not-for-profit organisation, has worked to position ethics at the centre of everyday personal and professional lives, while giving guidance on complicated ethical issues across all levels of society. They work to ensure that popular opinion is shaped by reason, rather than the loudest voice. TEC delivers services, including education, counselling and consulting, to help individuals and organisations make better decisions aligned to their own considered values and principles, and remains the only organisation in the world of its kind.
The organisation’s clients are enormously varied and include large ASX listed companies, non-profits, universities, sporting organisations, trade unions and government departments. The Centre recently launched the Ethics Alliance, a corporate membership program for businesses seeking to raise their ethical standards.
In a period marked by rapid technological change, increasing complexity and political uncertainty, The Ethics Centre is well placed to play a critical support role for business, the professions and government.
To help us address the challenges of an emerging market, TEC will be appointing a Client Development Manager proactively to manage and develop a steady pipeline of opportunity. You will work to grow our project pipeline across the Advice and Educations teams and ensure a continuous flow of new members to the Ethics Alliance program. Combining a market facing focus and curiosity about the world, with strong client management disciplines, this newly created role will offer you the opportunity to support this leading organisation in developing growth and business development strategies. You will be as capable at seeing the big picture as you are in rolling your sleeves up to drive business development activities. You will be responsible for the end-to-end process attracting leads, engaging with prospects, preparing all relevant documentation, closing opportunities, gaining feedback and reporting to ensure continuous improvement.
This role will suit a purposeful, energetic and imaginative self-starter with extensive business development experience and demonstrated success in the commercial or for-purpose sector, preferably in professional services. You will have a sophisticated understanding of, and interest in, current Australian and global affairs, business, political and organisational culture. You will think creatively in the targeting of new opportunities, prioritise tasks, forward plan, manage and develop budgets, meet targets and deadlines and deliver results. Highly developed and interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills are essential to this role.
This role is fulltime and may involve after-hours networking and travel.
