The Organisation

The Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section is a leading provider of health services across south eastern Australia providing primary health care, health education, emergency evacuation and retrieval services to remote, rural and regional communities.

The Role
  
You will drive the development of the community fundraising program, implementing tailored appeals and end to end stewardship plans in line with the organisation’s fundraising strategy. With one direct report, you will manage stakeholder relationships, maintain a strong community presence and work closely with the Retention and Development Manager and fundraising and data teams.  Your responsibilities will include:
  

  • engaging and nurturing relationships with community groups and organisations, auxiliary groups and third party fundraisers including high net worth individuals
  • overseeing and attending community fundraising events
  • managing organisers in third party fundraising organisations
  • managing the donor journey to build loyalty and grow relationships
  • identifying and developing new relationships, partnerships and opportunities for community giving

Skills Required
  
You have business development, event or community fundraising experience with a proven track record of building strong relationships. Your experience will include managing supporter and customer engagement with excellent communication skills ideally including with senior people and high net worth individuals. Your track record will include:
  

  • demonstrated experience in coordinating group events
  • success in managing multiple events or deadlines to meet income targets
  • experience managing volunteers and organisers in third party fundraising organisations
  • driving relationships and developing supporter bases of community fundraisers
  • high level donor care and donor relationship management
  • understanding of industry standards, reporting and governance requirements
