About the role

Metricon Homes, a leading multi award winning new home builder is committed to recruiting outstanding individuals who share our passion for delivering quality, service and award winning living solutions for Australian families.

Metricon has recently embarked on a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, anchored by two new charity partners. These partnerships will activate in H1 2019 and involve employee volunteering, philanthropic giving, workplace programs, and fundraising.

This is a highly rewarding but challenging role located in Mount Waverley within the busy Alternative Housing Division to work on a Permanent Part-Time basis 3 full days per week, but could be split across more days allowing for example school friendly hours.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Establish contracts, partnership activities and launch the new partnerships, in conjunction with the charities and Metricon’s subject matter experts;
  • Be the primary contact point for the charities and all activities undertaken together;
  • Provide advice to state and regional offices on additional local community sponsorships and charitable initiatives, for which we have additional funds allocated;
  • Not only act as a CSR subject matter expert but also as an Ambassador to grow and promote Metricon’s CSR efforts nationally;
  • Further develop and implement CSR strategy including identifying appropriate measures of success for Metricon’s CSR program;
  • Recruit and grow a national network of Metricon volunteers and identify colleagues to support the new partnerships, including ‘champions’ for each charity;
  • Provide regular updates on CSR activities to inform external communications (ie. social media posts, newsletters, media releases, etc);
  • Create quarterly reports for the Metricon Board on the status of the relationships;
  • Review best-practice CSR evaluation tools and provide recommendations to Metricon on their suitability for our organisation;
  • Co-design and execute high quality, strategic volunteer events and CSR activities; and
  • Manage community fundraising projects with support from the wider Metricon team.

Successful candidates will possess the following:

  • 8+ years relevant work experience either working in the NFP sector, or with a track record of successful relationships with the not for profit sector;
  • Experience needs to include a leadership role;
  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in CSR or related field (business, marketing, communications, etc.) would be an advantage;
  • Exceptional communications skills—excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively from Board level, to all staff, and externally;
  • Project management—ability to develop and execute project plans;
  • Relationship development and management skills—ability to build relationships at all levels and influence others. Proven track record of engaging staff an advantage;
  • Creative problem solving—ability to devise solutions and break down barriers to achieve goals
  • Reporting/analytical skills;
  • Financial/budgeting—ability to develop, track, manage, and report on budgets; and
    Collaborative working style.
