Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is a social purpose organisation that works with partners to improve the lives of people in need in Australia by helping businesses, governments and philanthropists to be more effective funders and social purpose organisations to be more effective at delivering services. SVA’s Impact Investing team provides socially-oriented organisations with a combination of capital and support to help them achieve social impact.
SVA is a leader in the Australian Impacting Investing market with a unique mandate to deliver risk-adjusted returns to its investors alongside measurable social impact. This broad mandate covers unlisted debt, private equity, real assets and infrastructure investments. SVA launched Australia’s first Social Impact Bond in 2013 and is now one of the largest dedicated fund managers in the growing sector. In addition to funds management, SVA offers structuring and advisory services to its clients in order to develop and bring Impact Investment products to the market.
This exciting part-time, permanent position sits within SVA’s Impact Investing team and works with a wide-ranging mix of internal and external stakeholders. The primary purpose of the role is to support the Manager, Operations – Impact Investing in day to day fund management tasks. You will liaise with the Impact Investing transaction team and Finance team in support of efficient back-of-house operations to ensure finance/administration requirements for transactions are taken through to completion. The scope of the position is wide-ranging, including assisting with operational support activities, treasury management and maintaining financial models. You will also assist with investor relations, including preparing reporting to investors, distributions to investors and dealing with investor queries.
Who you are
If you are driven by excellence, have a strong eye for detail and have some knowledge in funds management processes in an investment environment, this is the role for you. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in general finance concepts and a basic understanding of the legal framework for transactions, together with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office. An understanding of working in registry administration, fund administration, financial services or accounting will be an advantage.
