As part of Centacare’s Executive Team this position provides the opportunity to make a discernible difference within the culture of Centacare and the broader community. This role will see you provide strategic leadership in the areas of: people & culture, workforce strategy, research and quality, risk and professional standards, sector leadership and stakeholder engagement, new business and service development. Providing strategic advice as required within the framework of Centacare’s mission and vision.
The General Manager, People and Organisational Development will play a major role in ensuring Centacare’s vision, values, organisational goals and annual priorities are achieved alongside a systematic and integrated approach to continuous quality improvement.
As a member of the Centacare Executive Team, this role involves ongoing leadership in collaboration with other General Managers and the CEO.
About the Organisation
Centacare, Catholic Diocese of Ballarat is a social welfare organisation which delivers a range of programs and services to families and individuals throughout Western Victoria.
Established in 1977 the Catholic Diocese of Ballarat opened Ballarat Diocesan Family Services Inc to provide social welfare and outreach services on behalf of the Ballarat Diocese. In 1997 the organisation formally changed name to Centacare Catholic Diocese of Ballarat Inc. This reflected the organisations ties to the network of social welfare agencies across Australia who deliver social outreach services on behalf of the Catholic community. In 2016 the organisations structure changed to a company limited by guarantee.
With over 35 years’ experience Centacare continue to support those in need with counselling, employment, housing, family services, advocacy and outreach.
Centacare works in partnership with Federal and State governments, fellow welfare agencies, funding bodies and the greater community to deliver professional and responsive services.
Today we employ over 220 staff across Ballarat, Bacchus Marsh, Warrnambool, Geelong, Mildura, Horsham and Swan Hill.
