YOUR CONTRIBUTION
Your efforts will create a positive change for people living with a disability.
Responsibilities:
- You will identify community engagement opportunities and actively support positive partnerships between individuals, families, carers, local organisations (including Aboriginal, ethno-specific, multicultural, faith-based organisations) and the general community to build a more inclusive, welcoming and accessible community
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with individuals, families, carers and diverse communities
- Complete required documentation relating to participants, including updating IT systems and producing reports based on your activities
- Participate in supervision and performance development processes and take part in regular training and development activities
SELECTION CRITERIA
You will be responsible for delivering training and networking with participants and businesses across various industries to assist with gaining skills and industry experience needed to achieve and maintain sustainable employment. You must also be willing to drive across Sydney Metro and the Blue Mountains and have occasional overnight stay away from home.
Do you have an understanding of the needs and challenges affecting people with disability and disability employment knowledge? Do you have experience delivering training to the community members in the disability sector? Have you got an understanding of the issues facing the barriers people with disabilities face when sourcing main stream employment and have experience in using techniques and skills to assist with overcoming these barriers?
