The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking a Senior Communications Officer, Fundraising to undertake an integral role in the engagement and stewardship of donors and stakeholders through the development and delivery of the NGV Fundraising department’s communications strategy.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
You will be responsible for developing and delivering the NGV Fundraising department’s communications strategy. Other key responsibilities include:

  • Managing, guiding and supporting the Grants and Projects Officer to generate philanthropic revenue and achieve organisational strategic objectives. Generate exceptional grant applications to philanthropic trusts and corporate foundations, both locally and globally, and develop a comprehensive schedule of approaches, submissions and acquittals.
  • Conceptualising, developing and implementing the NGV’s internal and external fundraising communications plans to achieve organisational strategic objectives and promote fundraising initiatives and donor recognition across a full range of platforms.
  • Developing and executing a communications strategy which will encompass all phases of the NGV Contemporary campaign. This will include the development of collateral as well as the promotion of the campaign via a variety of platforms and events.
  • Working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to cultivate and solicit support for NGV wide priorities, including acquisitions, exhibitions, programs and events. Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to maximise outcomes, strengthen relationships, and enhance the NGV’s reputation.

To be successful you will be tertiary qualified and experienced in the fields of fundraising, communications or a related field. You can prepare and deliver complex reports and you ensure written communications contain the necessary information to achieve their purpose. You are influential in idea delivery and negotiations. You plan ahead based on priorities, are detailed focused, and adaptable in fast paced environments. You actively seek out useful partnerships with people through trust building and cooperation.
