We are currently seeking a full time Senior Family Violence Practitioner to join our Integrated Family Services Program in the Footscray Office until 30 June 2020. This position seeks to provide case management support services to parents and their children who have experienced family violence, as well as focusing on strengthening relationships and preventing family breakdown and ensuring the best interest of the child are met.
Reporting to the Team Leader, Integrated Family Services the position will be involved in but not limited to:
- Assessing referrals and requests for family violence case management services
- Providing a case management service for children, young people and their parents, including CALD families and children
- Contributing to an integrated and collaborative child-centered, family focused service system
- Recognizing, and responding appropriately to perpetrator behavior and perpetrator driven risk
- Encouraging joint family violence risk assessments (CRAF assessments) and safety plans; and enhancing information sharing
Applicants will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or equivalent (such as Psychology, Social Science)
- Demonstrated experience working in the family violence service system; and extensive knowledge and experience of risk assessment frameworks
- Proven therapeutic experience working with vulnerable children, young people and their families especially in the area of family violence and working with clients from CALD communities
