A unique and exciting opportunity has emerged for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Engagement Worker (Identified). To work closely with our Victims Assistance Program offering specialist responses to victims of violent crime including intake and brief intervention, case management, (brokered) counselling services, and community education. Practice is evidence and trauma-informed and client-focussed across Melbourne’s north and west.

We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual who has:

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or an equivalent qualification and/or experience;
• The capability to multi-task and prioritise effectively to achieve quality outcomes in a busy, client-focussed environment;
• Case management and casework experience with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients;
• Current Australian Drivers Licence; and
• Experience working with the police or the criminal justice system would be an advantage.

To perform this role, it is essential that the person who holds the position be an Aboriginal person or Torres Strait Islander person and is therefore a genuine occupational requirement under Section 28 of Equal Opportunity Act 2010 (Vic).
