About the organisation

Organisation Name : Equality Australia

Equality Australia exists to create a world where we’re all equal. Our vision is a fair and inclusive Australia – which we work towards by focusing on equality for all LGBTIQ+ people and their families. We work with LGBTIQ+ people and their families to build the power, voices and influence of our communities through partnerships, advocacy and mobilization, harnessing our expertise to support and promote efforts across Australia that achieve positive legal, policy and social change.

We’re a new and growing organisation that offers a dynamic, progressive and supportive working environment, a commitment to work/life balance, variety and flexibility, and the opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of LGBTIQ+ people.

About the role

You live and breathe digital. You love a good campaign. And your commitment to making the world a better place is what helps get you out of bed in the mornings.

If this sounds like you, then an exciting opportunity exists to join an organisation at the forefront of advocating for the rights of LGBTIQ+ people.

We’re looking for someone who has experience in digital campaigning, is passionate about LGBTIQ+ rights, and who will bring energy, enthusiasm, adaptability and lots of good ideas to this newly created role.

As our Campaigns Advisor, you’ll be kick-starting our online campaigning and advocacy– helping to establish infrastructure, build an engaged online community and boost our digital presence and activity. As well, you’ll assist with the day to day management of Equality Australia’s social media accounts, contribute to maintaining our website, and have the opportunity to directly contribute to the broader work of a small, committed and highly effective team.

To be considered for this position you will have:

  • All the cool stuff. You are able to engage and influence and be digitally creative and savvy when it comes to campaign design and execution
  • Great juggling skills to meet competing priorities and deadlines and manage rapid responses
  • Some serious skills too, like analytical and reporting skills, and the ability to spot and manage risk
