The Organisation
  
The Public Education Foundation (PEF) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing life changing scholarships to young people in public education, as well as their teachers and principals.  
  
They support students with particular educational needs or talents reach their full potential and improve overall educational outcomes.  PEF focus on removing the barriers to achievement created by social and economic disadvantage, and on acknowledging and rewarding excellence. 
  
PEF also provide scholarships for teachers and principals so they can access the very best professional development on offer at universities around the world.

The Role
  
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Manager will be instrumental in strengthening existing donor relationships and identifying new opportunities for funding.  You will also develop effective funding strategies and build relationships with donors across government, corporate partnerships, trusts & foundations and individual giving.  Specifically you will:

  • Oversee stewardship of existing donors, facilitating donor touchpoints
  • Cultivate the major gifts pipeline
  • Implement the corporate sponsorship acquisition program
  • Deliver on events in conjunction with the Events and Communications Managers
  • Manage the bequest program
  • Administer the annual giving campaign

Skills Required
  
You’ll be a self-starter, aligned to the values of the organisation and be prepared to work as part of a small but dynamic team.  Along with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing a fundraising program
  • Capacity to build and maintain donor relationships and using a range of approaches targeting individuals, trusts, foundations and other sources of funds
  • Capacity to write philanthropic and corporate fundraising proposals
