The Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation is a statutory authority, established in 2011. Our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of Victorians by working with communities and government to deliver effective, evidence-based initiatives to reduce and prevent gambling harm and provide support for those seeking help. We take a public health approach to our work, which means we focus on prevention, early intervention and support for Victorians who are particularly vulnerable to gambling harm, including in outer metropolitan, regional and rural communities.

About the role
The Foundation is seeking a qualified and experienced Director, Prevention to provide leadership for the Foundation in relation to its public health and prevention approach. Reporting to the Branch Head, Prevention and Programs, and heading the Prevention Team, the Team’s primary role is to undertake and facilitate primary prevention initiatives and programs to address gambling harms in Victorian communities. You will effectively lead a high functioning team, to oversee the delivery of key programs including schools, sporting clubs, prevention grants, strategic partnerships and community engagement work. As a key member of the senior leadership group you will play an influential role in shaping innovative approaches and identifying opportunities in preventing gambling harm, also developing new partnerships, working to establish a gambling harm prevention sector.
This position may be considered on a full time or part time basis (minimum of 4 days per week).
About you
You will ideally possess the following attributes:
- Advanced understanding of prevention and/or public health frameworks and approaches and the delivery of health promotion programs and initiatives
- A tertiary qualification in public health, health promotion or social policy is required, with a post-graduate qualification highly desirable.
- Exceptional relationship building/ stakeholder engagement skills
- A demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategy, deliver strong management support/advice and be an effective part of a leadership group
