We are currently seeking a Learning Support Program Coordinator to join our Settle Well program in implementing the Learning Support Program in allocated Geelong Schools. The program provides extra learning support to students from a CALD background within an after school hours’ program.
The main objectives of the role are to:
- Increase students’ capacity to engage in learning at school, increase social connections and to build their confidence as a learner
- Work collaboratively with partner agencies to meet the goals and objectives of CatholicCare and the requirements of the funding body (Centre for Multicultural Youth, CMY)
- Coordinate weekly Learning Support Program sessions, which support and promote individual student voices as part of the ongoing program development
To be successful in this role you will ideally possess:
- Tertiary qualifications in social work, education, youth work or similar
- Knowledge and experience in working with students from CALD communities
- Strong understanding of a variety of theoretical frameworks and intervention strategies to support students with their learning
- Commitment and ability to work in partnership with students, colleagues and other organisations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Basic/Intermediate skills using the Microsoft Office Suite
The role is Part Time (0.4 FTE) on a maximum term basis until 21 December 2019. In return you will work in a supportive team environment and will receive attractive staff benefits!
