About the organisation

Organisation Name : Opportunity International Australia

We believe that ending poverty is the single most significant thing we can accomplish in our lifetime. There are currently two billion people around the world living in poverty, surviving on less than we would spend on our daily cup of coffee. With more than 45 years’ experience, Opportunity International Australia exists to give these families the tools they need to work their way out of poverty. Our work is motivated by the love of God towards all people.

We recognise that poverty is complex, so we use a multi-faceted approach to solving it. Working with local partners, we deliver holistic solutions to target the three biggest obstacles that people living in poverty face: livelihoods, health and education. We help families use small loans to start businesses so they can earn their own incomes; we improve health, sanitation and nutrition so illnesses don’t stop them from running their business; and we support better education so that the next generation of children can leave poverty for good.

Join us! Together, we can become the solution for world poverty, one life at a time.

Don’t fight poverty – end it.
