We provide counselling and other support services in Darwin, Katherine, Alice Springs, Ltyentye Apurte, Finke, Titjikala,Tennant Creek, APY Lands, Nauiyu, Palmerston, Tiwi and Wadeye.

CatholicCare NT is a social services agency of the Catholic Diocese of Darwin. We are also a member of Catholic Social Services Australia (CSSA), a national body representing the Catholic social services sector.

About the role

  • SCHADS Award Level 6 – $89,850 (including salary $81,059)
  • Salary Packing Option (up to an additional $15,909 p/a)
  • Full Time, 38hours per week

About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Child & Family Wellbeing Educator to join our Wadeye team within CatholicCare NT. This position plays a key role in providing parents and carers increased capacity, knowledge, skills and support to raise healthy children. The position reports directly to the Team Leader Wadeye in conjunction with the Regional Manager Top End Remote.

We are looking for a candidate who is a team player with ability to work with others in a spirit of trust, respect, reflection and accountability. In addition the successful applicant has a particular focus on providing support to families by way of intake, assessment, case management, individual support, group work in addition to running educational activities to support the wellbeing of children.

About the role

The primary purpose of this role will be to provide a range of flexible, responsive support to families and young people in Wadeye through parent education, counselling, casework and community development activities. Key to success within this role will be the capability to develop and maintain good networks with relevant government and community based agencies.

We are looking for a person with:

  • Relevant qualification in Social Work, Counselling, Community Development, Community Nursing or Psychology.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with key stakeholders including participants, community members and other services.
  • Ability to case manage as well as provide education.
