About the role

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to work in an innovative therapeutic program within the community services sector? Would you like to be at the forefront of leading and providing integrated services?

The Sexual Abuse Counselling and Prevention Program (SACPP) is a highly regarded program that provides specialist therapeutic services to children and young people up to age 18 who have been sexually abused, children aged less than 10 years exhibiting problematic sexualised behaviours.

You will also:

  • Actively lead and manage the development of integrated practice with the multi-disciplinary team within your designated site
  • Lead a team of workers who deliver innovative and evidence informed interventions to support vulnerable families.
  • In this position you will be required to undertake expert clinical work with children, young people and their families.
  • Be an active participant in both individual and group supervision and reflective practice.
  • To contribute to the development and delivery of training packages on a range of issues which arise out of the work in order to support, inform and educate those working with the effects of sexual abuse, and sexually abusive behaviours.

 

About you:

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in social work, psychology, child and family social welfare or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in the leadership of multidisciplinary teams, including the provision of clinical supervision and the facilitation of clinical review and performance management processes.
  • Demonstrated capability to network and build productive relationships with stakeholders both inside and outside organisational boundaries.
  • Demonstrated capacity to lead and support change, innovation as well as contribute to quality improvements at an organisational / operational level.
  • Have related counselling experience as well as proven experience leading a counselling program and experience in group work.
  • Proven experience in the trauma and sexual abuse field within similar organisations, possess a strong knowledge of the sexual abuse service system including all relevant legislation and standards and be tertiary qualified in social work, psychology or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in the use of current theoretical approaches and best practice for working with children, young people and families where sexual abuse has occurred.
