About the organisation

Organisation Name : The Moriah College Foundation via People for Purpose

Established in 2011, The Moriah Foundation (TMF) was created to ensure the ongoing  sustainability of Moriah College and to  assist more children to access a Moriah education. Supported by the work of the Foundation, Moriah College plays a critical role in shaping the future of Sydney’s Jewish community. Moriah College is an independent, co-educational Modern Orthodox Zionist Jewish school, which prides itself on providing the highest standard of Jewish and general education. The College is committed to the total development of all its students – helping them to proudly realise their full potential as members of the Jewish community, and as Australians.

About the role

Lead the Moriah College Foundation as a strong and engaging relationship manager and a proud advocate for Moriah College.

  • Contribute to the ongoing growth and success of The Moriah Foundation
  • Drive the Board’s strategy to support engagement
  • Work with a committed team and Board to strengthen relationships

Building on its current success, TMF is now seeking a  Director of Foundation who will be responsible for ensuring the Foundation’s mission and vision are realised for current and future generations. The Director of Foundation is responsible for creating and implementing a strategy to drive engagement, nurture relationships, maintain a culture of philanthropy within the College and ultimately drive the Foundations growth. The  Director of Foundation will work very closely with the College to ensure the school community and alumni are connected and informed of the Foundation’s ongoing role and importance to the Jewish community.

In this role you will be an authentic advocate and ambassador for both Jewish education and for the success of Moriah College, engaging with donors to encourage and inspire giving. You will use your experience and exceptional networking capability to build and deliver a strategic plan to deliver a funding and friend-raising strategy focused on cultivating new and existing relationships with an emphasis on the families and friends of the school community, alumni and corporate supporters. This is a hands-on role requiring sound leadership experience, as well as a proven ability to engage and confidently build trusted rapport to create new, and deepen existing, relationships with a range of stakeholders including Jewish community networks, businesses and donors. You will also have sound financial management and project delivery skills, reporting skills, coupled with excellent marketing and communication skills underpinned by a high degree of professionalism and discretion. You will possess a keen eye for detail across all areas.

2020 is an exciting year for the College (Foundation) with a capital appeal taking place. This will provide a unique opportunity to purposefully engage with the community, and strategically consider and plan the next chapter of the Foundations history for future generations of the College.

You will have access to resources within the College and beyond that will support your engagement strategy, that will  evolve as the Foundation grows.

A genuine understanding of and/or affinity with the Sydney Jewish community and experience within the realm of Jewish engagement and education is desirable.
