About the Role
Family Violence and Settlement Caseworker Position
This casework position has the primary responsibility for developing and delivering direct services to Muslim women that are of the highest professional standard. The role undertakes intensive casework through a combination of face-to-face and telephone-based work, focusing on supporting victim/survivors of family violence and newly arrived migrants settling in Victoria.
The caseworker will join a team responsible for the development, delivery and review of all family violence and settlement casework services provided by the AMWCHR and contribute to the identification of broader emerging needs and issues within our communities.
The role works with clients, utilising a strengths-based framework from intake through to development of case plans, support, advocacy and referrals, and ensuring case plan objectives are achieved. The nature of family violence casework includes assessment, support (reporting, police engagement, court engagement, and accessing various other services depending on the situation) and referrals for Muslim women from diverse backgrounds.
