About the role

The CEI Operations Manager is a newly created position, reporting to the COO, to support CEI’s rapidly growing business. As a key member of CEI’s Operations & Finance team, the Operations Manager will be responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of day to day operations and for providing operational and financial management support to CEI’s project teams. The role will also involve supporting initiatives to improve CEI’s existing syst ems and processes.

Key responsibilities:

General operations

  • Coordinate and track general legal activity, and liaise with legal counsel in relation to project contracts, subcontracts and tender legal requirements
  • Manage day to day Human Resources activities, including supporting recruitment activity, coordinating performance management reviews, contributing to the development of HR policies and implementing internal HR processes
  • Coordinate operations between international offices and provide guidance to international offices on operational matters, as required
  • Oversee office facilities
  • Oversee systems and processes to support effective document and knowledge management
  • Be point of contact for and respond to operational queries
  • Manage project and pipeline tracking
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies
  • Drive continuous improvement in operational processes and support the COO in the analysis, selection and implementation of system and process improvement initiatives
  • Provide general support to the COO, as required, across range of COO’s responsibilities

Project support

  • Provide general operational guidance to CEI’s project teams
  • Support the preparation of project budgets and assist Directors and Project Managers with the financial management of their projects
  • Provide support to CEI’s project teams in relation to proposal development and tender responses, contract negotiations and contract and subcontract management

  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and/or overseeing operational activities
  • Experience in project management
  • Strong customer service focus with well-developed relationship building and influencing skills
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written, and an ability to engage effectively with multiple stakeholders
  • Good time management and organisational skills, ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • High levels of attention to detail with commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Strong ability to work as part of a team
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and thrive in an environment of high accountability
