The Fundraising and Communications Division (FCD) is responsible for ensuring that Cancer Council maintains a visible, engaging presence in the community; and to inspire and activate support from the Victorian public. Within the Fundraising and Communications Division, The Community Engagement Unit is responsible for providing Victorians with inspiring, meaningful ways to contribute to a cancer free future. To achieve this, the unit is accountable for the strategy and implementation of key fundraising campaigns and events across the State. This dynamic Unit takes a continuous improvement approach to innovation and business development, ensuring supporters have a great experience supporting Cancer Council.

About the role

  • Utilise your people and event management skills to coordinate volunteers in our iconic fundraising campaigns
  • Support and develop our volunteer strategy
  • Full time fixed term position (parental leave cover)– St Kilda Road, Melbourne

 

 

About your opportunity

We are seeking an energetic Campaign Volunteer Coordinator to join the Fundraising and Communications Division. Reporting to the Campaign and Events Manager, your role is to:

  • Support the development and implementation of Cancer Council Victoria’s fundraising volunteer strategy.
  • Manage the recruitment, supervision and engagement of volunteers for our fundraising campaigns, ensuring they feel recognised and thanked meaningfully.
  • Implement best practice volunteer engagement principles, continuously improving the volunteer experience, increasing volunteer numbers and retention.
  • Significantly ramp up to meet key campaign and event deadlines, ensuring all volunteers are rostered and ready to support campaigns, and volunteers are well-supported during the event.

All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in events, marketing, sales or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience with an events/campaigns or project role, with experience in recruiting and managing volunteers and/or large-scale event staff.
  • High level interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage expectations, trouble shoot during high pressure event times, and remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong organisational skills, who takes initiative and can work independently and as part of a team.

What we can offer you

This fixed term position (parental leave replacement position until January 2020) provides a salary within range $59,823 – $66,208 pa plus superannuation, annual leave loading and the benefits of not-for-profit salary packaging and a meal entertainment card. We also offer a flexible and friendly work environment, social and wellbeing activities and a location close to public transport.
