R U OK? is a charity dedicated to creating a world where everyone is connected and are protected from suicide. As a public health promotion, delivering mass population and targeted campaigns are an important part of what we do because it’s one of the most effective ways to reach more people and inspire them to start a conversation with anyone they’re worried about.

We’re a small team who care a lot about this issue and are privileged to work with some of Australia’s best and brightest. We know that suicide prevention is an enormously complex and sensitive challenge the world over. We would love to welcome a new Communications and Digital Officer to the team and continue raising awareness and changing behaviour by encouraging people to regularly and meaningfully ask “Are you OK?”

About the role

Reporting to the Brand and Communications Manager, this hands-on and multi-faceted role is all about:

  • Contributing to, scheduling and moderating social media communications.
  • Contribute to R U OK?’s content strategy to achieve continued growth and engagement in established campaign settings and new targeted initiatives.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of R U OK?Day and numerous other campaign settings all year round.
  • Helping to operationalise R U OK? projects including events, campaign launches and digital initiatives.
  • Maintaining effective and collaborative partnerships and communication with stakeholders.
  • Assisting with the fulfilment of contracted and value-added deliverables within R U OK?’s portfolio of partners.
  • Identification of new communication channels and initiatives to strengthen the reach of R U OK?
  • Maintain and enhance the R U OK? website with the assistance of third party partnership.
  • Recommend content and digital innovation to inspire conversations in specific settings.
  • Represent R U OK? at national events and stakeholder meetings.

 

 

Qualifications

Our new team member will have:

  • Communications and digital experience or equivalent study, combined with an understanding of the communications and marketing environment.
  • High level computer skills and knowledge of relevant communications software and support tools.
  • Excellent written, verbal and communication skills with a positive, upbeat personality.

Additional information

The role is based at fantastic offices located in the The Rocks and is co-located with a number of high profile WPP agencies, providing great collaboration opportunities.  This is a full time role where campaign demands will fluctuate at peak times. Some travel is required as part of the role and you will be subject to a Police Check and Working with Children Check.
