About the role

The Role:

We are recruiting for a very exciting opportunity as a Communications Coordinator, Events, to work within a supportive and highly motivated team located in Blackburn.  The primary purpose of this role is to create and manage all electronic direct marketing emails for Walk + Fun Runs and Mega Swim/Squash fundraising events.  With you strong creative writing ability,  you will produce content to engage, motivate and inspire participation and fundraising in these events and as well as other community fundraising activities. 

 

Your responsibilities:

You will be responsible for coordinating the production of content for fundraising campaigns to maximise impact and return, and ensure that communications are relevant, engaging and motivating for MSL multiple audiences.   

Additionally you will be responsible for coordinating third party contractors (such as videographers, graphic designers and photographers), interviewing clients for cause stories, editing, and creating writing and supporting corporate partners/sponsors.

 

Your capabilities:

You will need to have demonstrated experience in external stakeholder engagement and a great ability in developing these key relationships to achieve desired outcomes.  With your resourceful and motivated approach, you will manage inbound media enquiries for events and fundraising activities and work closely within the team to meet key objectives.

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone who has:

  • Sound experience in marketing or communications, ideally in a fundraising capacity
  • Proven experience in content production and copywriting
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Outstanding relationship management skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • The ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team
  • Sound computer skills in a range of Office products

You will be working with a highly successful team managing content for events and fundraisers to help people living with MS.  From time to time, you will be required to attend and support events which may be local and include evenings and/or weekends, or occasionally you will be required interstate. 

 

Your Qualifications:

You will need to have a tertiary qualification in marketing, media, journalism or similar and ideally within the NFP sector.

Your salary:

This is a full time and permanent position and you will be working from the office in Blackburn.  The position offers a competitive annual salary + super + a  generous tax-free salary packaging option (which means more in your take home pay), as well as the opportunity to work within a high profile, highly respected, not-for-profit Australian organisation.
