Relationships Australia Canberra and Region (RACR) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation committed to enhancing relationships within families and communities to support healthy, respectful relationships and personal and social wellbeing. About the role

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this role provides leadership and support to practice managers and their teams in the delivery of all programs and services across the organisation. The position ensures that operational plans are developed to support the strategic objectives of Relationships Australia Canberra and Region (RACR) and are well understood and executed by practice managers and their teams while aligning systems and processes to maximise our performance capacity and outcomes for clients.  The Director Operations will also ensure that clients’ experience in all programs from their first point of contact to their exit from our services will be welcoming, smooth, seamless and respectful.

This role is one of three directors’ roles within our organisation, where the three directors are expected to work together with the Chief Executive Officer to ensure that our clients are provided with timely high quality relationship services when they are at their most vulnerable and at their lowest ebb.  The directors also ensure that what is contemplated by our funders in our funding contracts is what is delivered to our clients.  All directors have an inward focus to ensure excellent service delivery and an outward focus to ensure that we enjoy excellent relationships with our funders, other service providers and stakeholders. All directors will be required to demonstrate a highly relational way of managing teams and resolving conflict.  An understanding of, and commitment to, restorative ways of working will be highly regarded.

  • At least 10 years’ demonstrated experience in leading, managing and supervising teams of staff and achieving success against organisational strategic and operations plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams using a relational approach to management and business relationships. An understanding of, and commitment to, restorative approaches would be very highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in promoting a client-focused approach to the delivery and management of services.
