Launch Housing has an ambitious and singular mission to end homelessness. We aim to get people housed, keep them housed, and be an influential voice on ending homelessness. Formed in 2015 following a merger of two well-respected agencies - Hanover Welfare Services and HomeGround Services, we are a secular, independent provider of choice for clients and the ‘go to' organisation on homelessness for government, media, philanthropy, private donors and the community.

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled, energetic and outgoing youth worker to join our Education First Youth Foyer (EFYF) team in Glen Waverly. Previous experience working with young people in a residential or outreach setting is essential for this role.
The EFYF is an innovative, partnership model to help young people experiencing homelessness build sustainable lives by providing and combining affordable accommodation, education, training and employment. Youth Foyers help break the cycle of homelessness, create opportunities, and help young people lead independent and fulfilling lives. Designed specifically for young people who are experiencing homelessness, the Foyer combines education, support and accommodation for up to 40 young people aged 16-24 years old.
As an EFYF Transitions Worker, you will strengthen critical EFYF partnerships, work on special projects that support the EFYF and strengthen and sustain relationships with service providers to support the EFYF model.
The primary objectives of the EFYF Transitions Worker is to act as the main point of contact for coordination and implementation of transition plans for students pre and post the Foyer Program whilst building and maintaining relationships with local real estate agents and other services that can offer post-foyer support if needed. Sourcing and securing private rental for foyer students will be achieved through working with the students throughout their stay to advance their housing and living skills, and to develop a transitions plan.
To be successful in this role, you will have a qualification or experience in education, community or a related discipline. You will also have a thorough understanding of one or more of the following areas:

- Community, housing and social welfare programs
- Education and learning, including vocational education
- Employment and career pathway programs
- Young peoples’ transitions and educational pathways
