About the organisation

Organisation Name : Very Special Kids

Very Special Kids cares for children with life-threatening conditions by providing Victoria’s only children’s hospice and professional family support services.  Our free-of-charge services help more than 900 families across Victoria, with ongoing support, from the child’s diagnosis all the way through to recovery or bereavement and beyond.

About the role

  • Be a part of a high performing Fundraising team
  • Attractive Salary Packaging
  • Full time (or part time 30 hours per week considered)

We currently have an opportunity for a fundraiser to own responsibility for generating and increasing revenue through community-based fundraising.  Reporting into the Fundraising & Events Manager, the portfolio includes third party peer-to-peer events, gifts made in memory or in celebration and all regular and ad hoc community fundraising initiatives.

Ideally you will come from a not for profit community or charitable organisation and have a proven track record in achieving fundraising income targets or sales.  In addition your engaging personality enables you to develop relationships with a diverse range of people, network and negotiate to achieve successful outcomes, coupled with excellent public speaking skills.  Degree qualifications in a related discipline would be an advantage.

Flexibility to work occasional weekends/out of hours required.  In addition, you will have an unrestricted driver’s license and be prepared to undergo a safe driver towing course.  As a confident driver part of the role will be to tow giant piggy banks from time to time.  A one day driver training course will be provided on Saturday 29th June.

In return, Very Special Kids offers its employees a supportive and rewarding environment including salary packaging, initiatives to support your health & wellbeing, and targeted individual development plans.

Although this is advertised as a full time position, we are a flexible workplace and will consider part time options.
