Working with a highly reputable international brand celebrating its Centenary in 2019, you’ll implement a strategy to maximise support from major donors, working within an ambitious Philanthropy team, and with the support of a highly engaged CEO and Board.

Save the Children is no ordinary not-for-profit.
We’re ambitious, creative and outspoken. We stand up for children’s rights. We want all children to be educated, healthy and live a life free from violence. We run programs in Australia and overseas and, if there’s a disaster – like an earthquake, drought or conflict – we are there on the ground.

Where you come in:
In this full-time permanent position based in our Head Office in Carlton, you will be a key member of the Major Donor team within the Philanthropy team. You will identify, cultivate and secure major gifts from high value donors across Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and Western Australia.

You will make an impact by:

  • Building on an existing donor pipeline to maximise income from donors in the region
  • Collaborating with key stakeholders to identify and secure funding opportunities to meet organisational needs
  • Continuously promoting the positive impact of Save the Children’s programs, mission and ambition
  • Producing and presenting highly impactful funding opportunities and organisational outcomes to maximise donor engagement

If we could compose the perfect you…
…You are an energetic and enthusiastic philanthropy professional with proven results in working with high net worth individuals to help them achieve their philanthropic objectives. You are motivated by ambitious fundraising targets and you work creatively to achieve them. Others describe you as being highly professional, collaborative, a team-player, transparent and a compelling storyteller. You are also a passionate advocate for children.

This role requires:

  • A well-established network of philanthropic contacts in the region
  • Demonstrated success in securing major gifts from high net worth individuals and achieving significant financial targets
  • Demonstrated success in building donor pipelines and developing effective cultivation strategies
  • The ability to adapt communication styles to influence positive outcomes with a wide range of stakeholders

Working at Save the Children is more than just a job.
It’s the feeling of knowing that your work is contributing to making the world a better place for children and working with others who feel the same. In addition to a connection to social causes, you will have access to:

  • Friendly and flexible work environment, including working from home
  • Child and pet friendly work environment
  • Full salary packaging benefits
  • Additional annual leave options available
  • Global knowledge, resources and opportunities through Save the Children International
