About the organisation

Organisation Name : MacKillop Family Services

MacKillop Family Services, a Catholic community agency, exists to support, foster hope and promote justice for children, young people and families, particularly those who have experienced distress, disadvantage and abuse. MacKillop works across New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia. Each young person and family we work with is protected, nurtured and given the chance to build a brighter future. MacKillop recently became an accredited provider of The Sanctuary Model. Sanctuary supports organisations to provide a safe and caring environment for people affected by trauma, and to maintain a culture that reflects these qualities at every level within the organisation.

About the role

THE OPPORTUNITY:

In this exciting role, you will manage the bequest program to achieve an increase in the number of bequest supporters and prospects; increase the value of bequest income to MacKillop Family Services; and ensure that supporters feel positive about the impact they can have through their bequest.

As the Planned Giving Specialist, you will be an integral part of our small and dynamic Fundraising team, responsible for developing the bequest program, administration of incoming bequests and working with the Fundraising Manager to build relationships within the wider Catholic community.

THE CANDIDATE:

To be successful in this role you will have a thorough understanding of fundraising and the principles of bequest solicitation and stewardship, coupled with experience in soliciting bequests and the administration of Estates. You will have a proven track record in engaging and nurturing donors, including the ability to have sensitive conversations regarding Wills and gifts in Wills.

The successful candidate will also have demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with others, as well as the effective personal judgement to prioritise own work loads and work independently to achieve goals.

Based in the heart of South Melbourne, this is a part time (0.4 – 0.6EFT) role offering good work-life balance and a great team environment, as well as the opportunity to join an inspiring, values-driven organisation.

If you have any questions, please contact Nichole Alfreds, Fundraising Manager on (03) 9257 2214.
