About the role

We are a seeking suitably qualified and experienced Team Leader – Family Relationship Centre (FRC) to join the busy Blacktown Centre.

Family Relationship Centres are funded by the Commonwealth government to strengthen and assist families in addition to providing support through family separation. Core services provided by the Centres include assessment and support, information and referral, group education and Family Dispute Resolution (FDR).

The role can be either full time or part time.

To be successful in this role, you will be an accredited FDRP and have well developed practice and clinical supervisory skills, as well as flexibility, initiative, coordination and organisational skills.

You will be a key support to the Centre Manager by leading a team of FDRP’s and Family Advisor’s, providing clinical supervision and managing day to day matters within the team. You will also maintain your clinical expertise, providing direct service where required. Other responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring high quality services are provided to clients through support and leadership for the team;
  • Collaborating with colleagues as part of the local leadership group;
  • Providing effective case consultation and clinical supervision including critical incident de-briefing and triage of complex case when escalated;
  • Preparation of reports and analysis as required;
  • Working closely with stakeholders to develop and improve staff practice;
  • Ensuring the program at Blacktown Centre remains relevant and well connected, with other services within and outside the organisation;

The essential criteria / experience for this role are below and your written application must demonstrate competencies in them:

  • An accredited FDRP with demonstrated competency in FDR in a post separation context;
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in the human services area (e.g. social work, psychology), law or other relevant qualifications;
  • Training or demonstrated competency in child focused and child inclusive family dispute resolution and property mediation;
  • Five years’ experience full time, or part time equivalent, in post separation work as an FDRP, mediator, family advisor or couple and family therapist or 2500 hours of supervised clinical practice.
  • Demonstrated skills, experience and training as a clinical supervisor;
  • Confidence (and competence) using technology (databases, Word, Excel, Outlook);
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

 The annual base salary range for this position is:

$87,380 to $94,097 (For full time role and prorata for part time) 

The hourly rate range is $44.81 to $48.25

In addition to the base salary, there is the employers contribution (9.5%) to superannuation, annual leave loading (17.5%) and we offer salary packaging

The actual salary will be dependent on experience, training and qualifications.
