About the organisation
The Victorian Pride Centre is a unique initiative that celebrates, bolsters and protects equality, diversity and inclusion. It is set to forge a new chapter in the narrative of Australian Pride by bringing the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex & Queer (LGBTIQ) community together in a single and powerful space.
The Victorian Pride Centre will showcase Victoria’s diversity, pave new directions for its future, and honour and celebrate Australia’s LGBTIQ community’s brave – and at times difficult – past. It will be home to practical and supportive services as well being an international tourist destination.
About the role
Under guidance from the Board’s Fundraising Committee, you will report to the Pride Centre Coordinator. You will:
- research and identify funding opportunities from Trusts and Foundations, philanthropists, individuals, corporates and potential Bequestors.
- organise small scale events such as dinners and visits to the Pride Centre site.
- build and maintain a number of data bases.
- work independently to identify, cultivate, raise funds from and manage relationships with an agreed portfolio of charitable trusts and foundations, individuals and bequests.
- Assist in servicing corporate sponsorship obligations, and preparing and managing tender materials for industry sector partnerships.
About You:
- Demonstrated fundraising or (equivalent administrative) experience including an understanding of the implementation and administration of trusts and foundations programs.
- Demonstrated ability to research and build data bases.
- Excellent written skills suited to preparing professional funding proposals.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, discretion and effective listening.
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively by telephone and in person to a diverse audience of internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to learn.
