About the role
Pollinate Group is an award-winning, global organisation that empowers women and their communities to access life-improving products, such as solar lights, in the world’s most neglected communities.
We identify, train and develop local change agents in urban and rural communities to serve their peers who live on less than US$1.50 a day.
The Pollinate Group team in Australia, based in Melbourne, is responsible for generating $1.5 million revenue to support the company mission. It achieves this through individual giving, grants, corporate partnerships and a fellowship program. The team consists of Director – Philanthropy, Partnerships and Programs Manager, Australian Hive Manager and Marketing and Communications Manager.
Our global fellowship program immerses the next generation of social entrepreneurs and change agents in-country across India and Nepal to work on real life challenges within a growing social enterprise. Participants have a first-hand experience of social entrepreneurship and build skills in critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, international development and leadership as well as network with global peers. We deliver in excess of 12 programs each year for students, professionals and executives and last year we hosted more than 100 participants from five continents. The program has been in place for more than 6 years in India and has recently expanded into Nepal.
The Fellowships Coordinator is integral to the smooth running of our global fellowship program, ensuring a high-touch, engaging experience for all program applicants and participants through application, pre departure and return to country. This position will also provide responsive general administration support to the wider Philanthropy team.
Please refer to the Position Description provided for the specific responsibilities of the role.
The role reports to the Australian Hive Manager and is a 5 month parental leave cover of 19 hours per week (days negotiable), based in Melbourne.
About the organisation
Pollinate Group supports two social businesses - Asha Kiran (India) and Kalpavriksha (Nepal).
Unlike other last mile distributors we focus on the hardest to reach communities and provide payment plans to make products affordable to all. Pollinators (employed sales agents) and Suryamukhis (women entrepreneurs) are the backbone of our business and lead change in their communities.
We’re a growing team with growing impact. Since 2012 we have reached more than 555,000 people, selling products like solar lamps, water filters and clean cookstoves. Our team works across six cities in India, two districts in Nepal and in Melbourne, Australia.
