About the role

Your Opportunity

Mission Australia is on the lookout for a State Operations Manager to provide support to the State Director, NSW, ACT & VIC with operational issues management, performance monitoring, strategic initiatives, planning and reporting activities.

In this unique and varied opportunity, you will get to utilise your well-developed interpersonal skills to liaise with a range of stakeholders across all levels and provide high level updates, recommendations and analysis to the State Director.

As no two days at Mission Australia are the same, your ability to be flexible, self-motivated, professional and organised will be key to your success.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Support the State Director and state leadership team in the management of high level operational issues that require some level of central co-ordination
  • Co-ordinate operational initiatives
  • Co-ordinate the development of the State Business Plan and supports the tracking of implementation of the Plan
  • Support the State Director in internal and external communication

Requirements for Success

  • A degree qualification in social policy/business or equivalent experience
  • Experience in the human service industry preferably in an operational managerial role
  • Experience in performance reviews, monitoring, quality assurance and reporting
  • Innovative thinker with a demonstrated ability to collaborate in finding solutions  
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and an ability to influence and present information well selecting the appropriate mediums
  • Fluent in the use of technology including Microsoft Office and reporting applications
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated high degree of judgement, initiative, confidentiality and sensitivity
