About the role

We are seeking an experienced leader from the social services and/or human services sector to lead our regionally dispersed South Australian team to deliver our services within contract commitments and to support the delivery of our future business plan.

You will be working in a fast-paced environment with circa 70 passionate employees to provide approximately 10 diverse frontline community services across South Australia; so you will need to be extremely organised, strategic, flexible and hands-on in your approach, analytical with good financial acumen, customer-focused and happy to travel across the region.

As you will be working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, your exceptional interpersonal skills along with your previous experience leading service teams to achieve quality outcomes (whilst managing performance and change) will see you thrive! 

Reporting to the WA & SA State Director, you will:

  • Lead a team and provide coaching, guidance and advice to team members
  • Own and provide input to tender processes and contract negotiations
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage workforce planning, resource planning and succession planning for the region
  • Work with the State Director and internal teams on a cycle of continuous improvement for internal MA processes and service delivery programmes to ensure these are optimised
  • Contribute to operationalising Mission Australia’s strategy and the SA State Plan
  • Work with internal MA teams to ensure that compliance commitments are met, if not exceeded

Requirements for Success

  • Strong management experience leading and coaching community service delivery teams across multiple sites to achieve business outcomes
  • Demonstrated ability to manage programmes within budgets and to contract parameters
  • Adept at building and developing relationships within Mission Australia as well as funders, community partners and government departments
  • Professional written and verbal communications skills and the ability to influence
  • Excellent organisational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritise work and manage expectations often remotely
  • Working with Children Check and Drivers Licence
  • Tertiary qualifications desirable
