Ngwala Willumbong Ltd is a Quality Accredited Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation (ACCO) that has been providing residential and outreach programs to the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities of Victoria since 1975. Ngwala is seeking to recruit a full time Residential Support Worker at the:
1. Winja Ulupna Womens Residential Rehabilitation Centre
2. Galiamble Mens Residential Rehabilitation Centre
Both centres are situated in St Kilda and provide residential rehabilitation treatment for Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander women and men with alcohol and other drug related issues. The Residential Support Worker positions will work in a team environment to provide case management and program supports to residents. The positions are full and part time with rostered duties over a 24 hour, 7 day week period.
The role of the Residential Support Worker is to assist and provide a range of case management support activities within a residential environment targeted towards the needs of residents. The position will work as part of a team that aims to provide a safe and culturally appropriate healing environment for residents to assist them to realise their Individual Treatment Plan goals.
KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
You will have:
- A relevant tertiary qualification eg. social work, social housing, welfare work and / or community development; and/or
- Minimum of Certificate IV in Alcohol & Other Drugs and/or Community Services
- Computer literacy skills including MS Word, MS Excel, email and Internet
Mandatory requirements:
- Current Victorian Driver’s License;
- National Police Certificate (no more than 3 years old)
- Current Victorian Working With Children Check;
