Continuing position
The Alumni Relations Officer is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a program of alumni engagement in support of Faculties, Schools and the University’s strategic objectives and Advancement Strategy
Working under broad direction and with a degree of autonomy, the Alumni Relations Officer plays an important role in the delivery of an integrated development strategy (i.e. philanthropic fundraising) as part of the overall Advancement Strategy.
The role is responsible for implementing a Faculty based Alumni Class Reunion program and delivering upon engagement strategies that will lead to future success in its wider objectives around alumni engagement and endowment.
To be successful you will need:
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with well-developed relationship management skills which contribute to the values, goals and objectives of the role and promote a positive team culture.
- A succinct, professional and responsive manner with the delivery of client centric results and outstanding interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in high level communication and networking, across a diverse stakeholder group.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to operate effectively in a complex and political environment, coordinate multiple projects in high pressure conditions and solve problems in an innovative and creative manner.
- A flair for marketing and communications with experience in drafting and implementing public relations/marketing/media materials and a strong understanding of emerging trends in digital communication.
- Understanding of how Alumni and Development functions in the University context and knowledge of Raisers Edge (desirable).
Your faculty’s broader role
The Office of the Vice-Chancellor and President leads Adelaide’s strategic vision and plan, and is responsible for the University’s management and administration. It includes the Council Secretariat and External Relations branch.
