Home to more than 150 artists, thinkers, makers and wellbeing practitioners, and offering more than 2,500 events each year, the Abbotsford Convent is Australia’s largest multi-arts precinct.
The Convent is managed by the Abbotsford Convent Foundation (ACF) – the not-for-profit organisation that owns and operates the site on behalf of the public, and manages the day-to-day operations, sustainability and future vision of this unique arts, culture and learning precinct.
We currently have a unique opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated fundraising, development and communications professional to join our team. The Development Projects Officer will provide high-level strategic and specialist support within the Fundraising and Development department, helping to deliver and grow the Convent’s year-round fundraising initiatives. With your exceptional relationship management skills and sound understanding of the philanthropic and corporate sectors, you will support the Head of Development in creating, implementing and maintaining a successful and sustainable philanthropy and development program at the Convent.
Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- supporting the development and delivery of annual public fundraising campaigns
- preparing the submission of grant applications, proposals, reports and acquittals
- providing high level donor stewardship and managing a portfolio of mid-level donors and funding partners
- proactively identifying and building new relationships/partnerships with government, sponsors, companies, Trusts and Foundations and key stakeholders
- identifying and leading new, targeted and innovative fundraising initiatives and activities, that provide growth opportunities and increased supporter engagement
- supporting the diversification of the ACF’s philanthropic revenue to expand its financial supporter base, increase community engagement and deliver on organisational strategic priorities.
The successful applicant will be a personable and authentic individual with a strong work ethic, outstanding relationship management, donor development and stewardship, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven track record in developing successful grant applications and contributing meaningfully to multi-channel fundraising campaigns. Ideally, you are an all-round enthusiastic and positive team player with a passionate interest in supporting arts, culture, community connectedness and wellbeing.
This is a full-time, fixed term 3-year contract role, with a salary package of circa $78k per annum plus superannuation. A six month probation applies.
