About the role

Summary of program and its objectives:

The Brotherhood’s Financial Inclusion Department understands that, given appropriate support, people on low incomes can save, build assets and repay debt. The Brotherhood currently runs a number of programs that seek to promote financial inclusion, including MoneyMinded.

MoneyMinded was developed by ANZ following its ANZ Survey of Adult Financial Literacy in Australia (2003), which identified a strong link between socio-economic status and financial literacy levels. It is a financial literacy program which can be tailored to suit a variety of participants in workshop settings. 

Main responsibilities of the role: 

This position is responsible for training BSL program participants in the MoneyMinded financial education program.  The role is intended to train participants that are already partaking in other BSL programs, particularly youth (ages approximately 15 – 25).  It is a pilot project to see how BSL programs can further integrate financial literacy into existing programs. 

To meet the selection criteria, candidates will require:

Essential

  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or similar experience in a training role.

  • demonstrated experience in training, particularly young people (aged 15 – 25)

  • Current Victorian Driver’s License.

  • well-developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships and liaise across all levels both internally, externally and with people from diverse backgrounds

  • ability to identify and resolve problems and make appropriate recommendations

  • well-developed organisational and time management skills with the ability to plan workload, prioritise and meet deadlines

  • demonstrated knowledge and competency in Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel and Outlook

  • understanding of and empathy with the values and ideals of the Brotherhood.

Desirable

  • relevant experience in knowledge of financial literacy.

This is a casual position and hours will be on an as required basis.

Salary will be in the range of $30.81 – $32.90 per hour for casuals plus 25% casual loading, based on skills and experience plus superannuation. Attractive salary packaging provisions are available to increase take home pay.
