About the organisation
COTA Australia focuses on national policy issues from the perspective of older people as citizens and consumers. It seeks to promote, improve and protect the circumstances and wellbeing of older people in Australia. It is the peak body for older Australians and in particular, in this context, for aged care consumers.
About the role
We are seeking an outstanding leader to guide COTA Australia’s aged care policy agenda and
to manage the work of the Aged Care Reform Team which supports the aged care reform work of the National Aged Care Alliance (the Alliance).
The Alliance is a representative body of peak national organisations in aged care, including consumer groups, providers, unions and health professionals, working together to determine a more positive future for aged care in Australia. COTA provides a support function to enable the Alliance to develop and provide advice to the Federal Government on aged care reform policy and implementation.
The position leads development of COTA’s policy and positions on aged care by working collaboratively with the COTA network throughout Australia and with other stakeholders.
Applicants must have outstanding interpersonal and relationship building skills as well as significant skill in consultation, policy analysis and development, and team leadership and management.
The position is a contract position, ongoing subject to government funding.
