Who we are
Social Ventures Australia (SVA) is a not-for-profit organisation that works with partners to alleviate disadvantage – towards an Australia where all people and communities thrive. We influence systems to deliver better social outcomes for people by learning about what works in communities, helping organisations be more effective, sharing our perspectives and advocating for change.
Committed to hiring staff who possess a genuine desire to make a difference to the lives of others, we currently have a rare and exciting opportunity for a Senior People & Culture Advisor to join our supportive and engaging People & Culture Team! The P&C team acts as a valued and trusted partner to its managers and staff and supports SVA’s three business units (e.g. Consulting, Impact Investing and Ventures) and our Strategy and Advocacy, Marketing, Partnerships and Connect teams to ensure SVA’s work is consistently and professionally communicated.
The position
Reporting to the Director, P&C, the Senior P&C Advisor will provide high quality advice and support to managers and staff on a range of HR matters, ranging from recruitment, coaching and mentoring people leaders, employee relations, performance management, grievances, and learning and development. The position will play a key role in contributing to our leading organisational development projects and initiatives determined in the P&C strategy for FY2020. A key project for attention in the first twelve months will be the selection and implementation of a Human Resources Information System.
Who you are
If you are someone who has initiative in abundance and a will to make a positive impact to enable people to succeed, then this is the role for you! You are a self-driven and engaging HR professional with significant HR generalist experience, both operational and strategic within a complex environment. Known for being responsive, approachable, empathetic and service oriented, you will confidently build connections with our leadership team, managers and staff and create collaborative working relationships that add value to the organisation.
As a trusted expert providing HR advice and support, you will come to the role with exposure to a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management and learning and development. You will be skilled in coaching, counselling and providing guidance to our managers and staff and responsible for continuous improvement of People and Culture systems and processes. This unique role provides exposure to an interesting and inspiring scope of work addressing disadvantage in Australia.
If you have the knowledge and experience we are looking for and are excited to join our dynamic team, please submit your CV (max 3 pages) and a statement (max 1 page) addressing the position requirements by midnight AEST Monday 5 August 2019.
