Youth Mentoring Coordinator

Jewish Care Victoria, a not-for-profit organisation, is the largest provider of aged and community services for the Jewish Community in Victoria. Programs include In-home, In-Community and Residential services for Elders,  Disability Services as well as services for Individuals and Families (I&FS).

Two Youth Mentoring Programs are offered at Jewish Care – The Young Achievers Program (YAP) and Youth Aspire

We are now seeking an enthusiastic and team orientated individual to join the Individual & Family Support team to coordinate and lead the Youth Aspire mentoring program in collaboration with the Coordinator of the Young Achiever’s Program. This position is part time and is based in our St Kilda Rd office although most activities are held in Community.  We are looking for a skilled individual who understands the benefits of and values mentoring for young people, particular for those experiencing disadvantage.


The key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Coordinate the Youth Aspire Mentoring program
  • Market and recruit new mentees to Youth Aspire
  • Recruit, train and provide supervision and coaching to Youth mentors.
  • Work in collaboration with the Youth Mentoring Coordinator, Young Achiever’s Program.


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Passion for working with young people including those who have experienced some disadvantage
  • Tertiary qualifications in youth services or other relevant discipline.
  • Knowledge of appropriate mentoring and coaching frameworks
  • Experience in the coordination and delivery of youth development initiatives
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders and great problem-solving skills
