We are a secular, independent provider of choice for clients and go-toorganisation on homelessness for government, media, philanthropy, private donors and the community.

 

About the role

  • Work with Melbourne’s most progressive housing and homelessness organisation
  • Part-time, Fixed Term 1 year contract (0.8 FTE)

The Crisis Accommodation Options Project has been funded by DHHS to review and research ways to improve crisis accommodation provision in the North and West. The Project Worker will work closely with the Research Worker to develop recommendations and to review the current use of HEF and other brokerage funding in the purchasing of emergency accommodation. The project will need to work closely and collaboratively with Access Point services in the North and West, and any existing Accommodation Options projects/positions.

 

A few of the key responsibilities include mapping and assessing the benefits and limitations of current options, identifying new options, monitoring cost and negotiating terms with Crisis Accommodation Providers and conduct crisis accommodation market assessment.

 

The successful applicant will demonstrate strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills, excellent problem solving skills and also, be able to work independently and a well-demonstrated understanding of housing and homelessness policies and systems.
