About the role

Summary of program and its objectives:

This is an exciting time for the Foyer Foundation, with a growing number of Foyers being developed across the country, a government focus on youth mental health, and increasing evidence of the efficacy and success of the Foyer model, both nationally and internationally. The Foyer Foundation is not involved in operating Foyers, instead we work with the Foyer network nationally to oversee their quality and development. This includes developing and implementing a nationally consistent accreditation process, and convening a National Community of Practice to enable sharing of practice and expertise, as well as building research and policy development. The Board and Executive Officer have identified the need to strengthen the Foyer Foundation’s position within this landscape, and are seeking an experienced Communications Manager to support this growth and consolidate sustainable revenue streams.

Foyers provide young people who are homeless with stable accommodation and support in a congregate housing setting for up to two years to enable them to achieve their educational and employment goals. Foyers are vibrant, trans formative settings that provide young people with the time, personalised attention, mentoring, coaching and access to opportunities needed to lead fulfilling, independent and productive lives. With a growing number of Foyers being developed across the country, a government focus on youth mental health, and increasing evidence of the efficacy and success of the Foyer model, both nationally and internationally, it is an exciting time to be joining the Foundation.

With a strong focus on traditional media, digital communication and the Foyer Foundation website and social media platforms, you will be integral to driving our engagement with the community.

To meet the selection criteria, candidates will require:
