About the role

People of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander descent are strongly encouraged to apply.

NPY Women’s Council now has an exciting opportunity for an Education Advocacy Project Officer to lead an exciting project as part of our Youth Service. The Youth Service works with children and young people (aged 10-25) and their families living in the NPY region, and is integral to the work that we do.

The Education Advocacy Project Officer role is a new position within the team.  The project funding is 4 years. During this period, the Project Officer will engage young women to identify the barriers and enablers to accessing secondary education.

The Project officer will work towards empowering young women from the NPY region to have a voice on a national and regional platform, as well as in policy reform.  The role will also identify key advocacy issues, give voice to this agenda and identify key partners that will add value to this advocacy.

This role will also advocate for current education programs within NPY Women’s Council Youth Service to be adequately resourced and evaluated by doing funding submissions and working with external researchers and evaluators.
