About the role

We have an exciting development opportunity for a Lead Practitioner to join the Tiwi Islands team at CatholicCare NT. This position plays a key role in providing clinical service delivery and leadership for the multi-disciplinary staff on the Tiwi Islands. The position will be reporting directly to the Regional Manager Top End Remote.

This position has a particular focus on providing direct Alcohol and Other Drugs service delivery, which may include group work, and working with children, young people and families. Additionally, you will ensure staff provides high quality casework, counselling and group work services in line with contractual obligations and the needs of the community.

 

We are looking for a candidate who has experience in providing supervision to multi-disciplined staff and have strong interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to engage with and manage complex situations.

 

We are looking for a person with:

  • Relevant qualification in human services and/or minimum of five years’ experience in AOD program delivery and team leadership
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including report writing, case note writing and the ability to communicate with all providers across a range of diverse cultural groups
  • Demonstrated cultural competency, particularly in working with Indigenous people
  • Experience living and working in a remote Indigenous community and an understanding of the challenges this may present
